Alliance Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India Limited, today formally commenced its maiden flight operation, connecting Guwahati, Dimapur and Imphal. <br />'' <br />'' The initiative is being done under the regional connectivity scheme, Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN).<br />'' It will operate between Guwahati, Dimapur and Imphal, three times a week on both routes. <br />'' <br />'' Nagaland Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Railways and Land Resource, P. Paiwang Konyak flagged off the inaugural flight at Dimapur airport. Paiwang said the introduction of Alliance Air service will boost connectivity, facilitate economic growth and promote tourism in the state. <br />'' <br />'' Chief Executive Officer, Alliance Air, C.S. Subbiah informed that the service will be upgraded to daily service in future and the Airline will work towards introducing connecting flight to Delhi from Guwahati, as suggested by the Nagaland Minister.  <br />'' <br />'' The Ministry of Civil Aviation had launched the UDAN scheme in October 2016 with the objective of making air travel affordable and widespread, and to boost air transport infrastructure development of all regions and states of India. <br />''
