<br/>In Assam, more than fifty villages in Baksa and Bongaigaon districts have been submerged following sudden rise of the water levels in Beki and Aai rivers. Central Water Commission sources confirmed the flash floods in the rivers due to release of excess water from the Kurishu dam located inside Bhutan. <br/> <br/>A report received from Baksa said several villages in Narayanguri, Khagraguri and Bwispani areas have been submerged. Flood waters threatened to breach several important river protection embankments. <br/> <br/>More than 20 villages have been submerged in North Salmara Sub-division following sudden rise of water level in the Aai river. Flash floods in the districts affected the on-going crop plantation activities. Standing crops are also reportedly damaged to a great extent.<br/>
