In Sikkim, the death toll in flash flood landslides in the north district, has risen to 20. The official sources said that four persons are still missing. The search, rescue and relief operation at Pengong and Rangma Range area in north Sikkim is in full swing. Helicopters from Army and state government have been deployed for the purpose. The State Chief Secretary Karma Gyatso made aerial survey of the affected areas this morning and reviewed the situation.The State administration is now focusing more on restoring electricity, water and other essential services affected badly in last three days. Heavy downpour in and around Mangan area since last 24 hours, has triggered some fresh landslides at Ambithang Village just half an kilometre away from the district headquarters. About nine houses in this area were reportedly affected due to this landslide. The district administration has asked the people to vacate the place immediately.
