In Haryana, 5-year old girl, Mahi has been rescued from a 70-feet deep borewell near Manesar in Gurgaon district. She was trapped in the borewell since Wednesday night. The rescue work was delayed by a rock that was blocking the parallel pit which the Army and Rapid Metro personnel had dug with the help of machines.

Meanwhile, Gurgaon's District Magistrate PC Meena has ordered a judicial inquiry to be carried out by Additional Deputy Commissioner to probe into the digging of an illegal borewell. An FIR under various Sections of the IPC has been registered against local resident Rohtash Tayal who illegally dug the borewell.
