Five women killed in a stampede at Dera Sacha Sauda

In Haryana, Five women were killed in a stampede at the headquarters of religious sect Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa this morning. Several others injured in the incident have been hospitalised. <br/><br/>Over 10,000 people had gathered at the celebration during the Founding Day function of Dera Sacha Sauda. The incident occurred at around 2 AM. <br/><br/>The Sirsa Superintendent of Police Satender Kumar said, the police is probing the exact reason on how the stampede occurred in the odd hours. <br/><br/>Dead bodies of the victims sent for post-mortem to the Sirsa district hospital, will later be handed over to their kins and relatives.<br/><br/>Haryana Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda expressed deep sense of sorrow over this tragic incident. He has announced to give an ex-gratia grant of two lakh rupees to the next of kin of the deceased and free medical treatment for the injured in this unfortunate incident.<br/><br/>Sirsa deputy commissioner Yudhvir Singh said that two followers are missing. He said that stampede occurred during distribution of gifts among the Dera followers, However Dera spokesman Aditya Insan said that no gifts were distributed during the annual congregation and incident occurred, when devotees were returning to their homes after the Satsang.<br/><br/>Deputy commissioner Mr. Singh said that an enquiry will be conducted to know the cause of incident.
