In Afghanistan, five US soldiers were killed today in separate incidents while battling the Taliban-led insurgency in the country. <br/><br/>NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said three of them died in eastern Afghanistan while two were killed in the south. <br/><br/>A sixth US serviceman also died as the result of an accidental explosion. It is the highest one-day toll since the deaths of 10 foreign soldiers on June 21. <br/><br/>The deaths bring to 352 the total number of international soldiers to die in the Afghan war this year.
