Five US soldiers killed in a single day in Afghanistan

NATO has announced that two more US soldiers had been killed in an attack in Afghanistan, bringing to five the total American deaths in the conflict in the last 24 hours. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, ISAF had already announced the deaths of three US soldiers on Friday in bomb blasts in southern and eastern Afghanistan, where foreign military fatalities are at record levels. This year, 386 foreign soldiers, including 228 Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan, according to figures on the independent www.icasualties.org website. The figure is highest in a year since the 2001.
