Five Tamil Nadu fishermen were rescued by their Sri Lankan counterparts after their boat developed a snag off the island nation's coastal waters. <br/><br/>Joint director of fisheries, Subbraj<br/>said, the fishermen were later produced in a court and remanded to custody till July 7. <br/><br/>They were stranded in mid-sea off Velvettithurai coast after their boat developed a snag when they were rescued by the Sri Lankan fishermen. <br/><br/>The fishermen, all of whom are from Vedranyam hamlet, were later taken to the army camp at Velvettithurai. They are now lodged in a jail in Jaffna.
