Five policemen killed in Chhattisgarh encounter; search operation on

In Chhattisgarh, police search parties have already been sent to the spot where five jawans, including three jawans of the BSF were killed on Sunday in an encounter with the naxalites. Mr. Ajay Yadav, S.P Kanker told AIR that cordon and search operations are on, following the incident. It may be mentioned here that at least 5 jawans, three of BSF, one constable of the state police and one SPO were killed when naxalites attacked them near Bhuski under the Durg Kondal police station area of the Kanker district this morning. Another policeman was also injured in the incident. The naxalites have also looted five weapons from the deceased policemen which include 2 A.K.47 rifles. Meanwhile, the bodies of the three BSF jawans killed in today’s naxal encounter have been brought to capital Raipur this evening. The bodies of the other two policemen were handed over to the next of their kin. The Governor MR. Sekhar Dutt and the chief minister Dr. Raman Singh have expressed grief over the killing of the five jawans in the state. In another incident, naxalites killed a villager in Punpalli village under the Dornapal police station area of the Dantewada district on Sunday, suspecting him to be a police informer.
