Five paintings by Picasso, Matisse and other great artists have been stolen from the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. Police sources said the paintings are estimated to be worth some 618 million dollars. Officials at the museum discovered the theft this morning when they found a window and a lock had been broken. The museum, across the Seine river from the Eiffel Tower, has been cordoned off.
