Government has deployed five National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams located at Guwahati to flood affected areas of Assam as a precautionary measure. According to an official release these teams are carrying specialized equipment to respond in any eventuality emanating from flood emergencies. The teams are equipped with the flood rescue equipment in sufficient numbers like Deep Diving Equipment (SCUBA sets), Inflatable boats, Lifebuoys and Life Jackets.Ministry of Home Affairs is constantly monitoring the situation in close coordination with the State Government.
