In Pakistan, at least five people were killed and scores others injured today in two powerful blasts in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. Media reports say a suicide bomber attacked the convoy of the provincial chief minister Aslam Raisani on Sariab road, killing two on the spot and damaging his vehicle. Police said the Chief Minister narrowly escaped the attack when was on his way to attend the assembly session. His personal staff officer was among the injured. Security forces have cordoned off the area while the injured have been shifted to a civil hospital. In another attack, three people were killed and five others injured. Yesterday, more than 45 people were killed when two suicide bombers attacked a government office in the northwestern tribal area of Mohmand.
