In Manipur, five civilians have been killed and as many seriously injured in a bomb blast in the capital Imphal on Monday afternoon. AIR, Imphal Correspondent reports the IED was planted in a scooter at the crowded Sangakpham Bazar. The intensity of the blast was so powerful that the dead bodies were torn into pieces. All the injured persons were taken to different hospitals at Imphal. A team of senior police officials led by state Director General of Police Y Joykumar Singh rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh who arrived at Imphal from New Delhi on Monday, visited the hospital immediately after the incident and inquired about the condition of the injured persons.Meanwhile, all police stations in Imphal have been put on maximum alert as this is the second blast in the city during the past 24 hours. Last night, a powerful bomb exploded at Singjamei Bazar. However, no one was injured in the incident.
