Five persons were killed and dozens other injured in three explosions in the southern Helmand and Kandhar provinces of Afghanistan on Saturday. Police sources said the first suicide car bomb went off outside a bank in Lashkar Gah, the capital city of the southern Helmand province where some policemen and soldiers were lined up to collect their salaries. Four persons, including two boys and one girl were killed and more than 21 injured in the blast. The injured included 10 soldiers and 6 policemen.Two more explosions occurred in Kandahar city. In the first, one person was killed and more than 20 injured in a bomb blast near a police compound. Another car bomb went off in outside the city’s main hospital injuring seven persons. No one has so far claimed responsibility for these attacks.
