Five Indians in World Jr. women's boxing semis

At the AIBA Women's Junior World Championships, three more Indian boxers have assured themselves of medals by advancing to the semifinals. At Taipei today. Savita (50 kg), Mandeep Sandhu (52 kg), Sakshi (54 kg) entered the last-four stage. Soniya (48 kg) and Niharika Gonnella (70 kg) had advanced to the semis yesterday and today's results took the Indian presence in the semis to five. Savita defeated Russia's Rodionova Valeriia 3-0, while Mandeep got the better of Hungarian Nagy Angela by a similar margin. However, in the 60 kg category, Nisha lost 0-3 to American Gutierrez Guadalupe, while in the 80+ kg division, Naganika Gonella was out punched 0-3 by Germany's Morka Jessica.
