Five including three terrorists killed in Kabul shopping mall attack

In Afghanistan, at least five people including three terrorists have been killed in an attack on a shopping mall in downtown Kabul. City Police Chief Mohammad Ayub Salangi told reporters that three terrorists attacked City Center at in the afternoon. One of them blew himself up at the gate of the center killing himself and two guards and injured two others. Two other terrorists were also killed in firefight with police inside the mall, he added. He said, the situation is under control and there is no security threat at the moment. City Center is a shopping mall frequented by foreigners and wealthy Afghans. Police chief said, the gun battle between police and attackers lasted for about an hour and the City Center was badly damaged. The Taliban told the BBC they have carried out the attack. A similar attack on 26 February 2010 on the City Center left 17 people dead and 34 others injured, mostly civilians. This was the fourth such attack in Kabul since January this year.
