In Afghanistan, gun battle between Taliban insurgents and police in the northern Kunduz province left five people dead including two policemen. District governor Mohammad Ayub Haqyar said the clash happened in Quldaman village of Imam Sahib district on Monday morning and lasted for few hours. A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, in talks with media via telephone from unknown locations confirmed the clash and said only one Taliban fighter was killed and three others sustained injuries.
