The five days long budget session of Tripura assemble began on Friday with the customary speech of Governor Ramesh Bais. In his address to the house, the Governor highlighted the development initiatives of the state government said that the state economy has got a massive boost over the year.<br />'' <br />''He said despite the impact given by the COVID pandemic, the state domestic gross products have increased. The governor said the per capita income of the state has enhanced substantially over the last year.<br />'' <br />''On the first half of the session itself the Finance Minister of the State and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma presented a Rs 22,724.50 crore tax-free budget for the fiscal year 2021-22.<br />'' <br />''While presenting the state budget, Mr. Verma said that in terms of percentage, it has increased by 118.09 percent as compared to last financial year. The fiscal deficit stands at Rs 773.43 crores.<br />'' <br />''He said, the government has allocated Rs 15.50 crore for the tourism sector, against Rs 7.14 crore in the previous budget, a hike of 217.09 percent. The education sector received the highest share in the Budget with allocations of Rs 4,152.62 crore.<br />'' <br />''The Finance Minister added that no new taxes were introduced. The finance minister announced several projects to accelerate the development of Tripura.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The schemes and projects include Chief Minister's Self-Reliance Family Scheme, National Law University, Bio-Village to promote organic farming, preservation and promotion of tribal culture and music, 10 Mobile Planetariums, Pushpabanta Palace to be set up as National Modern Art Gallery.</span><br />
