Five Bangladeshi workers, who were abducted last year from Mazar i-Sharif in Afghanistan, have finally been released on Tuesday after being kept as hostages for nearly seven months. Addressing a press conference in Dhaka on Tuesday, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipumoni said that the released workers are in good physical condition and are expected to return within a week.The five workers were part of a group of seven workers who were abducted when an armed group attacked the camp of a South Korean company on December 17th last year. One Bangladeshi employee had also been killed in the attack. Two of the workers were released a few days after they were abducted while the remaining five were kept as hostages. They were finally released today with the help of the Afghanistan government which engaged the Afghan elders to negotiate their release with the kidnappers.
