Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari has said, fishermen will be given trawlers to fish beyond 12 nautical miles, which will benefit 1 crore 25 lakh crore people. He was speaking after inaugurating the office of Sagarmala development company Ltd, in New Delhi today. He maintained that the productivity of fishermen will increase by five percent, as the trawlers would help them fish beyond twelve nautical miles.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, the national perspective plan under Sagarmala project has been prepared and many projects have been implemented. Under the project, port modernisation, connectivity, port- led Industrialization and coastal community development are the main focus areas. Sagarmala development company established under sagarmala pariyojana would raise capital Investment of about 12-15 lakh crore under the project. The company has ninety crore authorized capital and a shared capital of one thousand crore.
