Fishermen killing: Italian Foreign Minister meets Italian marines

The Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Maria Terzi di Sant' Agata last night met the two Italian marines who were arrested in connection with the killing of two Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala on the 15th of this month.

The meeting took place at the CISF Guest House in Kochi, where the marines have been kept under police custody. The Italian Foreign Minister will leave for Hanoi today.

The Kerala High Court yesterday ordered the release of Italian vessel Enrica Lexie after furnishing a bank guarantee of three crore rupees.

This was on an appeal filed by the relatives of the two fishermen killed in the firing against a single Bench verdict, which ordered the release of the vessel by furnishing a bank guarantee of 50 lakh rupees.
