The first session of the newly elected Maharashtra Assembly begins tomorrow. The state Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said this in Mumbai yesterday. A 38-member Congress-NCP ministry led by Mr. Chavan was sworn in at the Raj Bhawan last evening.<br/><br/>Quoting Mr Chavan, AIR correspondent that all the 287 elected representatives of the 288-member Assembly will be administered the oath and a new Speaker will be elected. The Chief Minister said the Speaker would continue to be from the NCP.<br/>Mr. Chavan said, he will request the Governor to appoint senior MLA Ganpatrao Deshmukh as<br/>pro-tem Speaker. He said the first meeting of the cabinet will take place today and portfolios of the new ministers would be decided by this evening.
