First round of talks between agitating Gujjar leaders and Rajasthan government fails

In Rajasthan, the first round of talks between Gujjar leader Col. Kirori Singh Bainsla and Power Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh has failed to break the deadlock on reservation issue. Col. Bainsla expressed dissatisfaction over the offers made during the talks and gave one week’s time to the government to come up with a concrete reply. He said that the government is misleading the Gujjars on the reservation issue and announced that Gujjar agitators will not leave the railway tracks till the issue is settled in favour of Gujjars. The Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reviewed the situation Sunday night. Union Ministers Dr. C.P. Joshi and Sachin Pilot were also present in the meeting. AIR correspondent reports that train and bus services remain paralysed in the state as a result of agitation.
