The first result of the assembly poll has come from Manipur. Congress candidate from Tipaimukh Assembly constituency Dr. Chaltonlien Amo has won the election. He has got 4,525 votes and his nearest rival from AITC has got 3,639 votes. The Congress is leading in eight other constituencies, NPF one and PDR one.
Overall trends from other states show that Samajwadi Party has taken a lead in 106 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh followed by BSP 57, BJP 37 and Congress-25.
In Punjab, SAD-BJP alliance has taken a lead in 56 constituencies and Congress in 30 constituencies.
In Uttrahand, Congress is leading in 27, BJP-26, BSP-5 and others seven.
In Goa, BJP is leading in five and Congress two.
