The first rake of Oil train carrying petroleum products in the Roll on- Roll off (RORO) mode was reached at Churaibari in Tripura. The rake was flagged off Friday from Bhanga, near Silchar in Assam.A total of 276 thousand liters of petroleum products like petrol, diesel and kerosene in 19 tank trucks and 14 metric tonnes of LPG were transported from Silchar in Assam to Churaibari in Tripura.The supply of petroleum products to the state of Tripura has been severely affected due to the heavy rains and the dismal condition of the National Highway 44.Indian Oil, under the guidance of Petroleum Ministry in deliberations with the North-East Frontier Railway has organized the transportation of petroleum products through RORO mode. In this mode, the tank trucks carrying petroleum products are loaded on open railway wagons for movement.
