<span style="color: #222222;">In Punjab, the first plasma therapy has successfully been administered to two COVID-19 patients at the Government Medical College, Amritsar.<br />''<br />''In a press communiqué in Chandigarh today, Medical Education and Research Minister O P Soni said, the Medical College has been enrolled in an ICMR project.<br />''<br />''It is entitled 'Phase II open label randomized controlled trail to assess the safety and efficacy of convalescent plasma to limit COVID-19 associate complications in moderate disease.'<br />''<br />''Mr. Soni said the plasma therapy has been given to two patients currently admitted in the Medical College, one from Pathankot and the other from Amritsar.<br />''<br />''The plasma was donated yesterday by a treated COVID-19 patient in Amritsar.<br />''<br />''He had returned from Dubai, and on his return he was found  COVID 19 positive.<br />''<br />''He said, these patients will be followed up for improvement in their condition.<br />''<br />''He said, earlier ICMR had given sanction to the Government Medical College, under the National Clinical Trial to treat patients with Plasma Therapy and has become one of the leading institutes in the country to introduce this therapy.</span><br />
