In Sikkim, the first Noth-East Members’ of Parliament Forum Summit began in Gangtok today. Inaugurating the Summit, the State Chief Minister Mr Pawan Chamling observed that peace and security are essential for ensuring development and growth. <br/> <br/>Speaking at the inaugural session the Union Minister of State for Water Resources Mr.Vincent Pala underlined the need to address the decades old problem of insurgency in the North Eastern States and to adopt a growth model, suited to the region. Chairman of the Forum Mr Mukut Mithi told that the Forum aims at taking up the concerns the local population effectively and facilitate their emotional integration with the mainstream of the country.<br/> <br/>
