The first meeting of the National Medical and Wellness Tourism Board will be held in New Delhi today. Tourism ministry sources said, a wide range of issues concerning the medical tourism sector is expected to come up for discussion at the meeting. The government had last year announced the setting up of a 20-member board with personalities like yoga guru Ramdev, renowned cardiologists – Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr Devi Prasad Shetty and Dr KK Aggarwal as part of the panel.<br/><br/>The board has been mandated with the task of devising strategies to increase the flow of foreign tourists to India for various treatments which are available at a much lower cost in the country. The board consists of members representing related government departments, tourism and hospitality sector and experts in the medical, wellness and yoga fields.
