First match between India-Sri Lanka drawn

Superb centuries by Gautam Gambhir and Sachin Tendulkar helped India draw the first test match against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. India were 412 for four when both sides decided to draw the match. Indian batsmen showed the guts and kept their record of not losing any home test to Sri Lanka intact. Gautam Gambhir played a resilient knock of 114 and shared important partnerships with Amit Mishra and Sachin Tendulkar, who not only completed his 43rd test ton but also climbed another peak by completing 30,000 international runs. The batting maestro remained unbeaten on 100 while VVS Laxman remained not out on 51, sharing an unbeaten partnership of 137 runs for the fifth wicket.
