The first major Golf tournament of the calendar year, the 2.7 million dollars Abu Dhabi Golf Championship got underway in the UAE capital yesterday. On the opening day, there was a three-way tie for the lead. Spaniard Rafael Cabrera-Bello posted a strong finish of three birdies in his last five holes and joined England's Matthew Baldwin and France's Romain Wattel at the top of the leader board at five-under par 67. Big names like Henrik Stenson, Rory Mcllroy, Phil Mickleson, Martin Kaymer and Sergio Garcia had a lack lustre day at Abu Dhabi Greens on day one.
