<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, the first local COVID-19 patient has been detected and is undergoing treatment. A media release issued by government today mentioned that the patient is a 52-year-old tour guide who had worked with a group of Italians. Efforts are being made to identify the individuals that the patient had contacts with and the places where he had travelled with the tourist group.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Government said that there is a risk of coronavirus spreading and has appealed to the general public to render their maximum support to the preventive measures that are in place.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The passengers who arrived in the country from Italy, South Korea and Iran are being sent for 14-day quarantine while any Sri Lankan arriving from other countries have been advised to stay at home for two weeks. Sri Lanka had so far stayed off from the outbreak of COVID -19 with the only other case reported in a Chinese female tourist last month, which was treated successfully.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">There are couple of other cases of infections among Sri Lankans staying abroad. The country has a huge tourism industry and attracts tourists mainly from western nations, India and China.</span><br />
