First Iraqi passenger train arrives in Turkey

The first passenger train from Iraq arrived in Turkish province of Gaziantep today. The train started its trip from Iraq's northern city Mosul Yesterday. <br/><br/>According to the the semi-official Anatolia news agency, a trip by rail between Mosul and Gaziantep takes approximately 18 hours, including time to be spent on customs check-ups and passport controls, while a ticket costs between 25 and 35 euros. <br/><br/>Turkish and Iraqi officials signed a memorandum of understanding in October 2009 to launch the train service, which is expected to boost economic, social and cultural ties between the two neighbours.
