The first Indo-Myanmar car rally is beginning in Guwahati this evening. State Industry Minister Pradyut Bordoloi will flag off the rally which will leave for Yangon tomorrow morning via Dimapur, Kohima and Imphal. The rally is jointly organised by the North-East Federation on International Trade and Assam Speed and Adventure Club. The theme of the event is “Mapping connectivity in the perspective of North-East and Myanmar: Focusing on building bilateral relations”. Above 70 cars will take part in the rally from all over the country. The organisers said, a few foreigners are also likely to participate in Imphal. The car rally will reach Yangon on 17th March and return to Guwahati the next day.
