First ever Paralympics Games starts in Arunachal Pradesh

The first ever Paralympics Games in Arunachal Pradesh kicks off at Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu, in Itanagar today. The three day event was declared open by Dani Sulu, Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Arunachal Pradesh. It is being organized by Arunachal Pradesh Paralympics Association in collaboration with District Administration Itanagar Capital Complex and Directorate of Sports, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh. More than 130 athletes from different part of the state are participating in the event. Volley Ball, carom, wheel chair race, running race, long jump, shot put, javelin throw and arm wrestling are the main sporting activities in this three day event.
