The first consignment of COVID vaccine Covishield approved by the Drugs Controller General of India arrives in Bengaluru today.<br />''<br />'' Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar informed media persons in Bengaluru that the first consignment of seven lakh 95 thousand vials arrived today. The state has been allocated a total of 13 lakh 90 thousand vials. The Minister explained that each vial of 5 ml has 10 doses and each dose is point five milliliters. Each dose costs 210 rupees.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">After giving the first dose, the person receiving it is kept under observation for any adverse impact and asked to get the second dose after 28 days. The Minister said that the state is geared up for vaccination on 16th of January. He added that the Prime Minister has asked Chief Ministers of all the states to first give vaccines to the health workers and frontline warriors and later to those with co-morbidity and aged above 50 years.</span><br />
