The first ever trade fair of the BRICS countries got underway in New Delhi today. The fair has been organised for deepening economic engagement, trade and investment ties among the BRICS nations – Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, and China. <br/><br/>The theme of the trade fair is Building BRICS – Innovation for Collaboration. The BRICS Business Forum, will be held tomorrow and over one thousand business delegates will participate from all BRICS countries. <br/><br/>The three day trade fair, being held at Pragati Maidan is showcasing about 20 key sectors ranging from aerospace, auto and auto components, green energy, railways, infrastructure, tourism, gems and jewellery and skill development. <br/><br/>Over 600 exhibitors are showcasing their products and expertise at the event. The exhibition timing is from 10 AM to 6 PM. There is no entry fee for the general public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed a BRICS Trade Fair and Exhibition during his address to the members of the BRICS Business Council at Ufa in Russia last year. India is the chair for the 2016 BRICS group of emerging economies.
