In China, firefighters are battling a mountain fire that has been raging for more than a day on an island near the port city of Dalian in the northeastern Liaoning Province. Local authorities today said no deaths have been reported so far after the blaze set at least 10 square kilometres of woods on fire and continued to burn due to strong winds. The fire was discovered yesterday afternoon on Changxing Island, a new economic and technological development zone in Dalian.The cause of the fire is not yet known.
