In Kolkata, a devastating fire broke out at Ulatdanga near Vidhan Nagar station on Tuesday. About 700 shantis ( jhopar patties) were burnt in the fire. The fire also spread in some areas of nearby Vidhan Nagar rail station. 26 fire tenders brought the fire under control after three hours. One person was killed in the fire. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the state government has ordered an enquiry over the incident. Trains services in Sealdah – Dumdum section were affected for some time due to fire.
