Fire men are still fighting the blaze that broke out in the prominent shopping places of South Mumbai early this morning.26 fire engines and 15 tankers have been so far pressed in to service to put out the fire.Municipal authorities told AIR that the intensity of the fire has decreased and efforts are on to gain complete control over it. The official said three firemen have suffered minor injuries and one fire officer had to be admitted to hospital after he complained of suffocation. More than 300 shops have been gutted in the fire that swept through Manish market, Sara-Sahara shopping complex, Mohata market and other small shopping establishments.The shopping enclave mostly houses showrooms of electronic goods, perfumes and clothes among others. No causalities have been reported.Maharsahtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Home minister R R Patil visited the place to take stock of the situation.
