Fire crews to battle 80 blazes in New South Wales

In Australia, fire crews will work through the night to contain more than 80 fires still burning in New South Wales, ahead of further hot and dry conditions next week. A fire burning in the Upper Hunter near Timor has burnt over 2,000 hectares and remains uncontained. Meanwhile aircraft have been water bombing a fire in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, but no properties are under threat. Fire crews are also working on two blazes burning near Tamworth, which are creating a large amount of smoke. The blaze started near Gnangara Road just before midday and has burnt more than 45 hectares of bushland. Authorities are asking people in the area to remain alert in case the situation changes.<br/>
