Fire breaks out in central Delhi's Subzi Mandi, 16 rescued by Delhi Fire Service officials

A fire broke out in a flat in central Delhi's Subzi Mandi area on Sunday. Sixteen people, including six children, seven women, and three men were rescued by the Delhi Fire Service officials. Four of the rescued people received minor injuries, the officials said. After receiving a call about the incident of fire, eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze. The fire has been doused and no one sustained any serious injuries. A senior police official said they have started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. He said the rescue operation was challenging as an LPG gas cylinder exploded inside the flat.
