A major fire broke out in Akruti trade centre at MIDC area in suburban Andheri in Mumbai late on Friday, causing huge property loss. The fire broke out in the sixth and seventh floor of the building, which houses several corporate houses.Chief fire officer H. N. Mujawar said the fire first broke out in the canteen situated on the six floor of the building and soon spread to the seventh floor. The fire was doused after struggling for almost five hours with the help of 15 fire tenders. No casualty was reported. Even though the exact cause is not known, there is possibility of short circuit triggering the major fire.
