In Uttar Pradesh a FIR has been lodged against the BJP leader Amit Shah for his alleged hate speeches.
FIR was lodged on Sunday at Kotwali police station in Bijnore district under Representation of the People Act and different clauses of IPC.
The Returning officer of the Bijnore Lok Sabha Constituency Bhawani Singh told AIR Allahabad Correspondent that the FIR has been lodged against Shah after reviewing video tapes of the speech made by him on April 4 while addressing BJP workers.
He said Shah has been charged for making inflammatory speech causing tension between two different groups of the society and to hurt the sentiments of others.
He said although the organisers had obtained permission for the meeting but Shah has violated the restrictions imposed by the Commission during electioneering.
Meanwhile, BJP termed the filing of an FIR against Amit Shah in connection with his alleged revenge remark in Uttar Pradesh as vindictive.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that Samajwadi Party led Uttar Pradesh government has acted against Shah for the polarisation of votes.
He also alleged that the FIR is a calculated design to communalise and polarise the election scenario in the State.
