FIR filed against Congress MP for threatening toll plaza employees in Guj

In Gujarat, an FIR has been filed against Congress Lok Sabha MP from Porbandar Vithal Radadia for threatening toll plaza employees. Congress MP Radadia was caught on camera brandishing a gun to threaten the employees of a toll plaza who asked him to show his identity card before waiving payment.

The incident that happened near Karjan of Vadodara district on National Highway 8 last night was caught on CCTV cameras installed outside the toll plaza. According to police, the toll plaza manager has said that the driver and other occupants of the car had threatened to kill him and other employees.

However, Vithal Radadiya defended his action, saying that he was surrounded by about 15 people carrying sticks after he told the plaza manager that as an MP he was exempted from paying the toll. AIR Correspondent reports that Vithal Radadia, Lok Sabha MP from Porbandar considered a ‘strongman’ of Congress in Saurashtra region and recently helped the party in organising a massive farmers rally in Rajkot.
Congress said the images beamed across TV channels were “extremely disturbing” and shared the concern of those angry
at the incident.

AICC Spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters in New Delhi that the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has been asked to submit a report on the incident which was condemned by opposition BJP.
