In Uttar Pradesh, an FIR has been registered against a relative of jailed Apna Dal leader Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi, and five others for violation of the model code of conduct. Police sources said in Jaunpur that Bajrangi's cousin Jagat Singh, and five others, were campaigning in the Madiyahon Assembly constituency in a vehicle which was not registered with the district administration. This amounted to violation of the model code of conduct in the poll-bound state, prompting the police to seize the vehicle and register an FIR. Bajrangi, who is contesting on Apna Dal ticket from the constituency, is named in at least 10 cases of murder including that of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail.
