Finance Ministry grants Rs 10000 cr to Fertilizer Ministry to provide loan to fertilizer companies

Finance Ministry has granted 10 thousand crore rupees to Fertilizer Ministry to provide loan to cash-starved fertilizer companies at reasonable rates. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Chemical and Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar today said, the amount has been sanctioned under special banking arrangement to help the industry to meet its fund requirements. Asked about the huge backlog of fertilizer subsidy, he said, it has come down to 20 thousand crore rupees from the level of 40 thousand crore rupees in 2009.<br/><br/>Mr Kumar said, the adequate amount of fertilizer was available during this kharif and rabi seasons. He said, the government has set a target to set up 3000 Jan Aushadhi Kendra across the country in all districts and Tehshil levels under Prime Minister Jan AUshadhi Yojana. <br/><br/>At present 760 Kendras are running in different parts of the country. He said, these kendras will have 450 essential medicine and 150 health supplements.
