Finance Minister to present Union Budget on July 10

The Budget Session of Parliament will begin from tomorrow. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the first budget of the Narendra Modi led NDA government on the 10th of this month. It will be preceeded by the Economic Survey, which will be released on 9th July. Railway Budget will be presented on 8th of July.Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan convened an all party meeting in New Delhi yesterday to ensure the smooth conduct of business in the House. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the government has conveyed to the opposition that it is willing to discuss any issue of national importance on the floor of the house.Mr Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi told him that the government is ready to discuss any issue depending on the importance of the matter permitted by the chair. He appealed to the opposition to cooperate with the government in transacting business in smooth manner besides maintaining the decorum in the house. He said, apart from the financial businesses during the session, ordinances on the reorganisaton of Andhra Pradesh and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India will be replaced by bills. He said the Budget will have to be discussed and passed by the two houses as standing committees have not yet been constituted. The budget needs to be passed by 31st of this month. Mr Naidu said, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will make a statement in Parliament on the situation in Iraq.Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan told reporters that all parties have promised their cooperation for a productive session.Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that he assured full cooperation of his party during the session. Kalyan Banerjee of Trinamool Congress said that his party wants a discussion on rail fair hike, price rise, internal security and federalism after the presentation of Rail and General budgets.The meeting was attended by Jyotiraditya Scindia of the Congress, Thambidurai of AIADMK, Dhramendra Yadav of Samajvadi party, Karunakaran of CPI(M), Bhartruhari Mahtab of Biju Janata Dal.
