Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said the year 1991 was watershed for Indian history as it had opened up the economy. Addressing students at the convocation of National Law University in New Delhi, Mr Jaitley said in the current scenario, survival of fittest is more applicable in law and business because surnames, families and lineage will not matter. The Minister stated that a bulk of the top-50 companies do not belong to the traditional business families now. <br/><br/>He also expressed hope, that the time will soon come when surnames, families and lineages will cease to matter in politics too. Mr Jaitley added that the phrase brain drain was no more relevant and India now has a brain bank that can serve the society, the country and the world. He said, with its talented manpower, India can play a bigger role in the world, especially in the developed countries, which are facing shortage of workforce.
