Finalise major economic initiatives: India to Japan

India today called for finalisation of major economic initiatives with Japan and early Conclusion of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh met his Japanese counterpart Yukio Hatoyama on the sidelines of ASEAN meet in Thailand and underscored these points. Briefing the media about the meeting, Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs Mr N.Ravi said, Dr Singh called for completion of the Dedicated Freight Corridor and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor projects on priority basis. Mr Hatoyama said, the realisation of corridor projects are symbols of high cooperation between the two sides. He also underlined the enhanced cooperation in the Economic, Defence and Security fields. Mr Ravi said, both the leaders also exchanged views on issues like climate change and forthcoming Nuclear Security Summit, besides the other regional and global matters.<br/>
