Final operation phase of GPS launched

Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today launched the final operation phase of GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation. It is one of the ambitious projects of Airports Authority of India in a joint venture with ISRO. Launching this, the Minister said the future of aviation sector in the country is changing very fast. He said the aviation industry in the country is one of those sectors that saw a constant pace of growth. AIR correspondent reports that primarily GAGAN is expected to provide satellite based navigation for civil aviation not only in the country but also across south and east Asia. After implementation of this technology air to air surveillance will be enhanced and efficiency of the air navigation will be improved to another level.
